About Da Nang Surf Cam
Da Nang Surf Cam is a free, community-run live webcam pointed at My Khe Beach on the central coast of Vietnam. It started as a simple way for local surfers to check the water without driving down to the sand, and it has grown into a small public resource used by travellers, surf schools, swimmers, and anyone curious about the conditions on this stretch of the East Sea. There is no account to create, no app to install, and nothing behind a paywall.
The project is run by volunteers from the Da Nang surf community. Running costs — the camera hardware, a reliable internet connection, hosting, and maintenance — are covered by small donations and by local businesses who support the cam. Every contribution goes back into keeping the stream online and, over time, adding coverage at other breaks around the city.

This live surf camera is located at My Khe Beach in Da Nang, Vietnam — often called one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The camera points southeast toward the East Sea, capturing the beach break that makes this stretch of coastline popular with surfers of all skill levels.

You're watching real-time surf and beach conditions at My Khe Beach. The feed shows wave height, wind conditions, and crowd levels so you can decide if it's worth heading to the beach. During peak season (October through February), you'll often see well-formed waves ideal for intermediate and advanced surfers. The rest of the year offers gentler conditions perfect for beginners and longboarders.
Operating hours
The camera streams live daily from approximately 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM Vietnam time (UTC+7). Outside these hours, you'll see a recording from the most recent session. This schedule ensures you always have recent footage to check conditions.
Seasonal patterns
Da Nang's surf season peaks from October through February when northeast monsoon swells bring consistent overhead waves. March through September offers smaller, gentler waves ideal for learning. Water temperatures stay warm year-round (24-29°C / 75-84°F), so wetsuits are rarely needed.
A community project
Da Nang Surf Cam is a volunteer-run community project, not a commercial enterprise. We built this to help local and visiting surfers check conditions before making the trip to the beach. All donations go directly toward camera equipment, internet costs, maintenance, and expanding coverage to more surf spots around Da Nang.

How to read the cam
Watch a few sets before judging size. Look for clean lines and offshore spray off the back of the wave — that means light west wind and rideable conditions. Choppy, crumbling faces usually mean the sea breeze has filled in for the day.
When it works
The season runs roughly October to March, when the northeast monsoon pushes consistent swell into the bay. April to September is smaller and better for learning. Water stays 24–29°C year round, so no wetsuit is needed.
